This is one of my favorite stories…and a good one to remember!
An elder Cherokee Native American was teaching his grandchildren about life. He said to them, “A fight is going on inside me…it is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One wolf represents fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other stands for joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, friendship, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. This same fight is going on inside you, and inside every other person, too.”
They thought about it for a minute and then one child asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The old Cherokee simply replied…”The one you feed.”
Welcome to the Stress Healing Center.
My primary goal is to help you transform personal stress to personal well-being.
I am a New York State licensed mental health counselor and a nationally certified counselor. I have had the privilege and blessing to have worked in the counseling field for 50 years. I am committed to helping individuals learn how to activate their own inner healing resources to eliminate the negative effects of stress. I have established the Stress Healing Center to make available resources to transform personal stress to personal well-being. I am providing my services as a gift to anyone who needs them, free of charge. There are no fees.
We are all called to be helpers, in many ways, places, and times. Whether it be with our work, family, or the next person we meet. A helping attitude sets a course that can change lives. The greatest gift we can give to another is our compassionate attention. Facilitating personal well-being is our primary purpose. Healing personal stress is our first step to experiencing compassion, for ourselves and for others. True change begins with self-love and self-care. I am looking forward to meeting with you.
